The requirements for Spotify's student discount are very specific, so it's easy to tell if you qualify or not. If you are currently enrolled at a US Title IV accredited college or university, and you're at least 18 years old, then you qualify. Four year universities, community colleges, and other accredited institutions all count, as long as they are US Title IV accredited. If you aren't sure if your school qualifies, you can use the Federal Student Aid site to check whether or not it is Title IV accredited. If you already signed up for a Spotify Premium subscription prior to enrolling at a qualifying school, you can still apply for the discount. I have already cancelled my premium subscription, and it is still valid till the 1st of April after which I will be switched to the free version. Will I have to wait for the subscription to expire before signing up for the student discount? If I cancel my account in order to switch to a student discounted account, will I lose all of my playlists? I have tried changing my premium account to the student discount and it says it has worked, but I have been getting billed for both a premium account AND a student account. What in the hell do I do?
Also, you will not be charged twice. I just discovered the student discount and was worried i would lose all my music and playlists if i unsubscribed from my premium account so I just put my info into the student discount boxes and it changed my subscribtion to student premium! I ont be charged twice and I will now only be charged with the discount so hopefully this helps you guys out too! I have a Premium acount of Spotify.
